Hospice of Laurens County is your only local not for profit hospice serving Laurens, Union, Newberry, Saluda, Abbeville, Greenwood, Greenville and Spartanburg counties since 1987.
We offer the following types of care:

- In-patient hospice care at the Hospice House located in Clinton, SC

- Hospice of Laurens County has been the only not for profit hospice serving Laurens County for 30 years.
- We provide care in the service areas of Laurens County Memorial Hospital, Self Regional Healthcare and the Greenville Health System.
- More than 135 caring volunteers for additional support for the services we provide to patients and families.
- 12 bed Hospice House inpatient facility. Built in 2008, the Hospice House is a peaceful home like environment
- Serve patients in local long term care facilities.
- Provide bereavement and grief support programs.
- Jaime's Tree House - a grief program designed for children dealing with the loss of a loved one.
History:
Hospice of Laurens County was the first hospice to open in Laurens County and has continued to be a leader in hospice care in our community. Hospice of Laurens County was established in May 1987 by a group of volunteers who identified a need for Hospice in this community. Hospice of Laurens County is a not-for-profit organization caring for all patients regardless of their ability to pay for services. Since 1987 we have served thousands of patients and their families. Hospice of Laurens County not only cares for the patient but also their family and loved ones.
In 2008 Hospice of Laurens County opened the Hospice House, the first of its kind in Laurens County. The Hospice House serves patients and their families that cannot be cared for in their home or choose not to. The Hospice House is a peaceful home-like environment that provides areas for the patient and the family to spend their final months, weeks, days or even hours together.
Hospice offers comfort care rather than curative treatment. Hospice care focuses on the quality of life and death is viewed as a natural process; we do not hasten nor postpone this natural course. Hospice of Laurens County takes a team approach; this team includes physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, volunteers, and chaplains. On call nursing is available to provide care and support on a 24 hour a day, seven day a week basis. Hospice of Laurens County has an average response time of less than 5 minutes.
Hospice of Laurens County provides medication needed for pain and symptom management related to the terminal illness, as well as supplies and medical equipment such as hospital beds and oxygen when needed for comfort care. We consider the family of a hospice patient to be a “unit of care”. Support for the caregiver is provided throughout the process and bereavement services are provided for at least 13 months after the death of a patient.
